Rules for operating an oil heater

It must be remembered that when choosing a not the most expensive radiator, it will still include a thermostat, coloring, as well as protective qualities from overheating. Also, many heaters can be adjusted for temperature parameters, and power changes. There are a few basic rules to follow when using this instrument, such as:

  1. When in use, the heater must be positioned vertically.
  2. It is not recommended to immediately turn on the device, if it was transported in a lying state, you should wait a couple of minutes for the oil to sink to the bottom of our device
  3. It is highly undesirable to operate the heater in rooms with high humidity, you can’t dry things on it, and you don’t need to put it close to furniture

What is an oil heater made of?

The most important parts and design elements of an oil-type heater:

  1. The container of the device is sealed with mineral type oil.
  2. To prevent damage to the heater housing, you need to know that such a valve is located at the bottom of the radiator where the oil
  3. There is a special heater, which depends on electricity. With its help, the oil is heated and heated
  4. A thermostat is used to regulate heating.
  5. Also, this device has a lever for switching different heating gears.
  6. When buying an electrical appliance, an instruction manual should always be included.

Maintenance and wiring diagram of the device

At their core, such radiators do not have specific maintenance rules. You only need to know a couple of basic rules before using it after a long break:

  1. Be sure to wipe the device with a damp cloth from dust and dirt, and then allow time to dry.
  2. In order for the radiator to serve for a long time, it is filled with a certain oil. In the event of a breakdown, it must be taken to a service center, to the manufacturer who knows for sure and will be able to put it to work.
  3. This heater must be placed in a dry place, never in a damp place, as problems may arise in future use.
  4. Such a radiator should be stored separately, without a cord to be disconnected, and also in a well-heated place.

You need to know that in order to repair or turn on this device, you need to understand and study its electrical circuit. What kind of cord is used, what kind of grounding is needed, a switch that regulates the thermostat. All this greatly affects the quality and safe operation of the heater. When studying such a circuit, you will definitely know how to use an electric oil heater correctly and wisely.

Themed Products:

Infrared thermal radiation is a natural form of heating, similar to the Sun. Thermal radiation is not absorbed by the air, but reaches heated surfaces, floors, water, objects and people in the area of the device. The operation of an infrared heater does not have a negative impact on human health and well-being.

Construction and modern design infrared heaters make them almost invisible in almost every interior, and the location on the ceiling makes it possible to use them throughout the space along the walls of the room.

Infrared heaters are applicable for heating office, domestic and commercial premises. Infrared heating is ideal for rooms with high ceilings, namely for industrial and warehouse premises, as well as for sports, entertainment and health centers.

Infrared heaters is infrared temperature activity. Infrared radiation is a natural natural electromagnetic radiation, which is not visible to humans and is perceived by them as heat. The energy emitted by infrared heaters is absorbed by the surfaces that are present in the room. These surfaces can absorb heat from infrared heaters (floors, walls, objects, including tables). In a similar direction, heat is accumulated by objects and the room is heated not at the expense of the device itself, but also at the expense of interior items that have already absorbed heat. Infrared heaters are devices with the help of which it is possible to carry out zonal or spot heating of a room. When using an infrared heater, the level of comfortable stay of a person in the room is extremely high!

One of the most famous types of infrared heaters for the home is ceiling mounted infrared heaters. They are mounted at an impressive height, best of all under the ceiling, which is necessary for uniform and efficient heating of the room at the lowest cost.

The scope of IR heaters is very wide:

  • warehouses, high-bay warehouses with the requirement to comply with the temperature range;
  • factory buildings, industrial shops;
  • trade and exhibition pavilions, covered markets;
  • administrative and office premises, banks, foyers of theaters, hotels, conference rooms;
  • hospitals, children's educational institutions;
  • cafes, restaurants, tents;
  • private cottages, dachas, garages, apartments;
  • balconies, loggias, terraces, verandas;
  • sports and entertainment facilities, indoor tennis courts, swimming pools, etc.;
  • ticket offices and waiting rooms of railway stations and airports;
  • gas stations, car dealerships, car washes, car services;
  • religious and religious objects, etc.

Infrared heaters combine the advantages of electric heaters with the tangible benefits of infrared heating. Using the simplest bimetallic or more modern electronic programmable temperature controllers, you can fully automate the process of space heating for a day, a week, a month or a whole heating season. At the same time, you can set a predetermined mode (schedule) of heating, lowering the temperature during non-working hours, at night, weekends and holidays - thereby saving electricity.

The main advantages of infrared electric heaters:

  • heating indoors, as well as open and semi-open areas; use in various industrial processes for drying and heating;
  • zone economical heating;
  • No heat loss, efficiency up to 90% (infrared heaters transform more than 90% of the energy consumed into heat energy, which is not transferred to the air, but to surrounding people and objects, and even after the device is turned off, heat from objects continues to be transferred to the room);
  • energy savings (consumption is 20-70% less than conventional convection-type heaters);
  • rapid heating of the room compared to convective heating systems;
  • the use of thermostats makes it possible to maintain the room temperature at a constant level and set a heating schedule (lower or increase the temperature at the right time), as well as automate the heating process for a day, a week, a month or a whole heating season;
  • saving free space (installation under the ceiling);
  • simple and quick installation / dismantling at minimal cost;
  • environmental safety (do not emit combustion products, do not burn oxygen and do not require additional ventilation);
  • Fire safety;
  • noiselessness;
  • high quality materials and components; All parts are carefully checked before assembly;
  • fasteners included;
  • reducing the likelihood of dampness and the appearance of harmful microbes;
  • 3 year warranty.

Principle of operation

What is infrared heating.

Let us recall elementary concepts. We were taught from childhood that the temperature of the surrounding space refers to the temperature of the air. And only about it we are told in weather reports.

In fact, the temperature that a person feels (the so-called sensation temperature To) is the sum of the air temperature Tv and infrared radiation (radiation component) Ti. That is approximately equal to (Tv+Ti)/2. Therefore, the same value of To can be obtained for different values of Tv, even negative ones. For example, on the slope of a snowy mountain under the bright sun, you can even sunbathe comfortably.

The air has a low heat capacity, therefore, to heat the air to the standard temperature throughout the entire volume of the room, a large amount of energy is required. However, the work area in which people are usually located at a height of up to 2 meters - so everything above this zone is essentially heated for nothing. Warm air rises, accumulating under the ceiling and increasing unproductive heating losses. Additional losses fall on the heated air removed from the room by the ventilation system.

Why infrared heating?

Infrared heating is like the sun: heat rays (infrared radiation) propagate in a straight line and are not absorbed by the air. This makes it possible to direct them directly at a person or heated objects, without heating the entire volume of the room for nothing. The heated floor and objects, in turn, give off heat to the air and the person, creating soft comfortable heating. At the same time, infrared radiation can be directed not to the entire area of \u200b\u200bthe room, but only to where people work, that is, to organize selective zonal heating.

Heat distribution diagram for use Heat distribution diagram for use

conventional way of heating infrared heaters

As a result, by reducing TV in the entire volume of the room by 3-4 °C and compensating for this by adding infrared radiation in the working area, a reduction in heating or heating costs is achieved without loss of thermal comfort. Depending on the volume of the room, the degree of its insulation, in the presence of thermostats, the total reduction in heating costs when using electric infrared heaters (compared to traditional convective heating) can reach 70%.

There are no miracles and tricks here, just as there are no violations of the laws of thermal physics. How much heat leaves through heat loss - so much must be compensated, regardless of the heating method. The main feature of infrared heating is a decrease in the average air temperature throughout the entire volume of the room and compensation for this by a radiant additive directly in the working area. Infrared heating is heating the area, not the volume.

Electric infrared heaters have their own specific niche, where they have bright advantages, while not rejecting other types of heaters (convectors, fan heaters) and requiring a balanced approach in choosing their application.

Construction of an infrared heater.

In infrared heaters produced by the Tchaikovsky Mechanical Plant, the emitter is aluminum plates of a complex profile, the plates are heated using heating elements pressed into them. This achieves a large specific thermal power per unit surface of the emitter and relatively small dimensions of products.

The emitter is mounted in a rectangular metal case with fastening elements to the ceiling.

During installation, it is necessary to maintain distance A from the walls of the heater housing to the walls and ceiling of the room, which must be at least 300 mm. Distance B from the reflector to combustible substances and materials in the area of the heater must be at least 500 mm. The height C of the heaters suspension must be at least: RIKI 6 - 5 m, RIKI 4 - 4 m, RIKI 3 - 4 m, RIKI 2 - 3 m, RIKI 1 - 2 m.

The specified distances A are valid for the heat resistance of materials and coatings of walls and ceilings of at least 80 0 C.

  • Remove the legs and wheels from the foam packaging.
  • Turn the heatsink upside down and place it on a soft surface so as not to damage the heatsink's protective coating.
  • Insert the two tabs on the legs into the 2 slots on the ends of the battery (fig. 1).
  • Fasten the leg using the 2 loop screws provided (fig. 2).
  • Install the wheels on the axis of the legs and press them until they click
  • Pull on the wheels to make sure they are secure.

Power connection

  • Before inserting the plug into the socket, you must make sure that the voltage of your network corresponds to the V value indicated on the device, and that the socket and the power supply line are capable of withstanding this load.
  • Connect the radiator only to sockets with a reliable earthing system.
  • This device complies with Directive 89/336/EEC and Ordinance 476/92 on electromagnetic compatibility.

Inclusion

Insert the plug into the outlet. Turn the thermostat knob clockwise to the maximum position until it stops. Turn on the radiator using one or two switches:

  • Single switch models (1 power setting)
    • button in position " I"- full power is on
    • button in position " O" - switched off
  • Double switch models (3 power settings)
    • - " - minimum power
    • only one button in position " = " - average power
    • both buttons in position " - " "= " - maximum power

Thermostat adjustment

When the room temperature reaches the desired value, it will be necessary to slowly turn the thermostat knob counterclockwise until the control lamp turns off (or until a click is heard), and no more. The temperature set in this way will be automatically maintained by the thermostat. If your appliance has two switches, then during the transitional seasons or on not very cold days, you can select an intermediate power, and not the maximum one, which will save energy.

Frost protection

With the thermostat in the " * " and pressed switches, the device will maintain the temperature in the room at 5 ° C, preventing freezing with minimal power consumption.

Models with a 24 hour timer

To program the operating mode of the heater, do the following:

  • Check the time on your watch. Suppose it is now 10 o'clock. Turn the programmer clock ring clockwise until the number 10 matches the arrow on the programmer.
  • Enter the time interval during which the device will operate by shifting the black teeth to the center. Each tooth corresponds to a time interval of 15 minutes. After that, red sectors corresponding to the operating time will be visible.
  • Thanks to this adjustment, the radiator will automatically operate during the set hours (attention: the plug must be connected to the socket).
  • To change the operating time, it is enough to return the teeth to their original position and enter a new operating time.
  • If you want the radiator to work without programming, then move all the teeth to the center. In this case, in order to completely turn off the device, in addition to turning off the switches, it is also necessary to remove the plug from the socket to prevent unnecessary operation of the programmer.

Models with a mechanical timer for 12 hours (programming a delay on)

With this timer, you can enter the time for the automatic start of the radiator. To do this, do the following:

  • Turn on the radiator and select the required power and temperature as described above
  • Turn the timer knob clockwise until the arrow points to the desired start time. The appliance will start heating after the entered time has elapsed.

Care

  • The electric oil cooler does not require special care. It is enough to wipe off the dust with a dry and soft cloth.
  • Clean the radiator only after it has cooled down.
  • Never use abrasive powders or solvents.
  • If necessary, remove accumulations of dust with a vacuum cleaner.

Precautionary measures

  • Do not use the radiator near bathtubs, showers, sinks or pools
  • Do not use extension cords and adapters for work, if necessary, use cables with a cross section of 3x1.5 mm, rated for a current of 16A.
  • Do not use a radiator to dry clothes, do not lay the power cable on hot elements.
  • Use the radiator always and only in a vertical position
  • Replace the power cable if necessary. Use only rubber cables H05VV 3x1 sq.mm for power up to 2000W, or cables 3x1.5 sq.mm for power up to 3000W
  • When switching on for the first time, set the appliance to maximum power for at least 2 hours. During this, the room should be well ventilated to remove the "new" smell that the device will emit.
  • It is normal for the appliance to squeak when first turned on.
  • Do not place the instrument directly under a fixed power socket
  • The cavity of this radiator is filled with a precise amount of oil, so repairs that require opening it should only be carried out by the manufacturer or a service company. In the event of an oil leak, contact the manufacturer or a service center.
  • Do not use the device in rooms smaller than 4 sq.m.
  • Never cover the appliance during operation, as this will lead to a dangerous increase in its temperature.
