All about the repair and decoration of apartments

Trinity St. George's female. Trinity St. George Convent (Forest)

There are many holy places in the world around us: some of them have been known since time immemorial, others not so long ago ... Sometimes such places are very close to us, and in the bustle of life for the time being we simply don’t notice them (such is their property). And it’s good when such places, sooner or later, open up to us - for someone they reveal something new   (hitherto unfamiliar and unusual), and for whom they become a source for mental strength ...

So today I want to introduce all of you to one of these places: in which just   (nothing to do)   you won’t get there, and if you find yourself there, then, believe me, you won’t regret it.

It will be about the Trinity-St George Monastery.

Trinity St. George Convent   It is one of the four monasteries of the Ekaterinodar diocese and it seems to be located not so far from civilization - 20 kilometers from the city of Adler (Krasnodar Territory). However, the impression is misleading. The monastery is located in a picturesque place ... deep in the mountains.

The fast mountain river Psakho wraps around with a greenish ribbon - sometimes humble, and sometimes carrying its own powerful inexorable stream past the monastery walls to connect to another river after six kilometers (Kudepsta)giving her all his energy.

And it leads to the monastery, through the pass, only one road - from the highway (from Adler towards the village of Krasnaya Polyana)   to the mountain village of Lesnoe   (next to which it is located). Therefore, you can get here either on foot (6 km from the highway)having previously reached the turn from the highway by shuttle bus, or purposefully by car.

The history of the Trinity-George Monastery began at the turn of the last two millennia - on August 10, 1999, when a monastery was founded on the funds of a small abandoned recreation center of a local reinforced concrete plant for private donations. However, he appeared not just like that, but as a successor to the name and traditions of two church institutions: the abolished   Holy Trinity Monastery that in due time   (in 1902)   was founded in the village of Monastery   (9 km northeast of Lesnoy)   and closed (for obvious reasons) in Soviet times (in 1924)as well as the parish the church of st. St. George the Victorious .

The entire subsequent fifteen-year history of the monastery is an amazing example of how life can be intertwined (by place and time)   various human fates, about which they later say: “The ways of the Lord are inscrutable” ...

The monastery is primarily obliged to its development:

● constant benefactors (philanthropists), at whose expense the monastery develops intensively;

● the brightness of the original talent and hard work of the Sochi architect Fyodor Ivanovich Afuxinidi, according to the designs of which temple structures were erected and are being built here (by the way, he is also the author of the project of the temple of the Miraculous Image of Christ the Savior, which was mentioned in the essay about);

● the obsession for inspiration and tireless energy of the abbess of the monastery - mother Superior Anastasia   (Mikhalko)possessing not only high organizational qualities, but also, apparently, a wide soul. Her obsession and energy reminded me of the story of the creation of one of the Ukrainian monasteries. () , about which I already spoke once.

And of course, the work of the nuns of the monastery - not only due to the fact that on their fragile shoulders lies a considerable part of the work to improve the monastery, but primarily for their tireless and soulful prayers, thanks to which people soon started talking about the miracles of the monastery and people came here ...

Sisters and novices always welcome visitors. They willingly talk about the history of the monastery. With one of these natives - mother joanna   I met briefly while visiting the monastery. Even for such a short time of meeting her, she, with her benevolence and energy, knowledge and ability to unobtrusively and interestingly tell about the Law of God, left a bright trace in my soul ...

Monastic life here is not much different from other monasteries. (except for the multifaceted construction work): In addition to everyday prayers and church demands, services are held at the monastery’s churches on weekends and Orthodox holidays.

Nevertheless, an unusual factor, perhaps, is the presence of two own choirs in the monastery: everyday and festive, in which performers with an opera education serve ... Perhaps that’s why, in addition to the missionary activities that the monastery carries out, according to the plan of his abbess, since 2012 Big Pokrovsky festival is held   (it is held on the main stage of the city of Sochi - in the Winter Theater, as well as on the territory of the monastery)where church chants, folk and folk songs are performed.

How interesting and significant the monastery is in modern Orthodox life can be judged even by the fact that in 2013 the President of Russia visited the cloister of Christmas   (V.V. Putin)who, together with the natives and parishioners of the monastery, met this holiday here. I can assume that the officials who prepared this kind of event had previously and carefully studied this issue before they proposed it to the first person in the state ...

Well, now, as usual, a few words about the architectural ensemble of the monastery .

The construction of the first temple   (Vladimir Icon of the Mother of God)   here were started back in 2000. Almost fifteen years have passed since then, and they are still ongoing: in a small area, there are now four   temple, and more three   (!!!) are in work (at the completion stage). And what kind of temples - one not like the other, and each with its own story ...

At the same time, although all the temples are different, the unity of style is felt in the architectural complex of the monastery, there is a common outline.

Despite the incompleteness of work on the creation of the architectural ensemble of the monastery, it already stands out for its unusualness and recognition, which is one of the indispensable conditions for creating an outstanding monument of church architecture, which allows you to immediately distinguish it from many other monasteries.

The architectural ensemble of the Trinity-St George’s Convent includes temple, auxiliary and administrative buildings.

1. Temple structures:

  Church of the Holy Great Martyr Uara (2000-2004)   - The main church of the monastery, which occupies a central place in its ensemble.

The temple is a square building in plan, in the style of Moscow church architecture of the XIV-XV centuries. The construction is completed by a high light drum with a domed roof and a cross, and sky-blue, directed upwards, its outlines look great in any weather.

The dedication to the temple and the history of its creation are interesting.
  The temple was dedicated to St. vmtsts. Ouarou, who lived in the 2nd century and was the Roman commander of Emperor Maximian. He openly declared his faith and voluntarily went on suffering for the Savior. They pray to the holy martyr Huar for relatives who died without accepting Holy Baptism, pray for those who have died of their own free will, as well as for babies who die before birth or in childbirth. They turn to the saint and with a prayer for the health of young children.

There are only three such temples where you can pray for the forgiveness of suicides and unbaptized dead throughout Russia: in Moscow, in Ivanovo, and here in Lesnoy.

And the very history of the creation of the temple to match his dedication.
Once a heartbroken mother came here. On her border, a son who was not baptized was tragically killed. The abbess of the monastery advised her to pray to St. vmtsts. Huaru, intercessor for the deceased son. After that, a loving mother decided to erect a temple on the territory of the monastery in honor of the Holy Great Martyr. She sold all her son’s property - a Moscow apartment, a car, and gave all the money for the construction.
  On May 14, 2004 the temple was consecrated by Bishop Isidore.

church of the Icon of the Mother of God of Vladimir (2000)   is the first building of the monastery.

With its northern facade, it overlooks the Psakho River, enveloping the monastery, and is a two-story building, in which:

On the   ground floor   situated church in the name of the Vladimir Icon of the Mother of God   (which paused in 2000)   and chapel in the name of Our Lady of Ostrobramsk from baptismal font. Located here church shop where you can buy icons, crosses, spiritual literature and monastery souvenirs;

On the second floor   the three-altar church is located: the main throne is dedicated icon of the Mother of God Peschanskaya , the other two - Seraphim of Sarov   and Kiev Pechersk Reverend Fathers .

Inside the temple is made of wood and decorated with carved wooden icons. Stored here the main shrines of the monastery   - particles of the relics of St. Nicholas, eighty-three holy fathers of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra and a thread from the belt of the Most Holy Theotokos.

temple in honor of the icon of the Mother of God "Seven-shot" (2006-2007)   It is located opposite the main temple of the monastery and together with it and the Church of the Icon of the Mother of God of Vladimir forms a monastery (cathedral) square.

The church uses both the classical style and the elements of modernity, and the basis of its architectural construction is fully consistent with the icon to which it is dedicated (which is also called "Softening Evil Hearts")   and is stored here: it has 7 faces of absid, 7 faces of walls (first level)   - by the number of arrows piercing the Virgin, - turning into eight faces   (second level).

An undoubted decoration of the temple is also a magnificent faience iconostasis made by specialists in the Urals especially for this temple.

This church is very often used as a wedding and, of course, is one of the decorations of the monastery.

temple chapel in honor of the Icon of the Mother of God "Satisfy My Sorrows" (2005) , which in its appearance resembles the architecture of Ancient Russia and is unlikely to leave anyone indifferent. This building, according to experts, is one of the best church creations of the architect F.I. Afuxenidi.

The church itself is not high, but it amazes with its lightness and aspiration upwards. This sensation arises because it consists of three tiers, each of which, as it were, pushes the next one up. And on top, like a crown, is an elegant onion with a cross. Inside the temple, light falls through unusually beautiful stained-glass windows. A special pride of the church are its murals and carved iconostasis made of linden.

According to the natives, mourners and seekers of solace often come here, and it is located behind the church of St. vmtsts. Huara.

In addition, on the territory of the monastery, as I have already said, three more new churches are currently under construction:

churchesdedicated to   Icon of the Mother of God Abbess Mount Athos, the list of which was made in the icon-painting workshop of Athos and donated to the monastery by one of the elders of the Holy Mountain. The temple is located next to the Church of the Icon of the Mother of God of Vladimir and also adjoins the Psakho River with its northern arches;

● brownie the templeadjacent to the monastic cells, which will be dedicated icon of the Iberian Mother of God Gatekeepers(a list from which was also brought from Athos).
  Both temples will be decorated with quartz and stone mosaic;

the templededicated, if I'm not mistaken, st. vmtsts. Panteleimon, the construction of which is carried out a little further from other temples, in the eastern part of the monastery.

2. Auxiliary and administrative facilities:

canopy   (arbor)   above the well with the holy spring , the plot of the decor of which is dedicated to the meeting of the Savior with the Samaritan woman.

The well’s water is identical to the Matsesta’s waters saturated with hydrogen sulfide, so it’s planned to bring another spring containing a lot of silver into the well.
  If you wish, you can collect holy water for yourself here. (It is only advisable to take a container under it ahead of time).

This canopy is also a monastery belfry .
  Immediately, under her canopy, in her spare time you can sit down and rest on the equipped benches.

And near the canopy arbor is equipped, as they say for the soul, a small   artificial pond with water lilies;

  monastic cells   - a four-story building, pretty elegant architecture, where the inhabitants of the monastery and their abbess live.

In addition, as I understand it, in the coming years it is planned to build a monastery hospice (hotel), where guests and pilgrims of the monastery can stay for a few days;

farm building located in the western part of the monastery (along the fence);

church shop   (currently, finishing work in it, in my opinion, is not completed)   and next to her - bakery shop where you can buy monastery pastries.

And this despite the fact that there is still no real economy in the monastery   (except for a few small greenhouses and a small "chicken community").

guard house , where not only the guards of the monastery are located, but also the clergy on duty, whom you can contact if necessary for urgent spiritual matters ...

The first one appeared on the territory of the monastery grave   monastery graveyard. Judging by the inscription on the monument - “Nun Seraphim (Mikhalko Svetlana Georgievna)”   - she belongs to the deceased mother of the abbess of the monastery ...

The monastery is surrounded by the most ordinary, unsophisticated fence but over time, if you believe the design plan of the monastery, it will be replaced by a real, skillfully made

monastery wall , with galleries located in it   (at the second level)

Of course, there is still much work to be done at the Trinity-St George Monastery. Not only in terms of the construction of structures, but also in the interests of landscape improvement of its territory.

But even the incompleteness of all these works is not striking. When you go down from the pass, and already from afar, amazing silhouettes of temples and the tops of their domes begin to be seen in the valley - everything else, somehow involuntarily, fades into the background. And more and more penetrating the history of the creation of this monastery - so far short, but full of human participation, by and large, not so rich   (not a couple to the current nouveau riche Abramovich, Prokhorov, powders), but generous souls of people who have invested here not only the money accumulated by their work, but also all their creative energy, spiritual kindness, you sincerely experience a feeling unknown in everyday (everyday) life, which is called: who is Grace, who is peace of mind ...

P.S.   I believe that for objective reasons, not many of you will still be able to visit the Trinity-St George’s Convent, so I suggest you look   (if desired)   a small exclusive video about this monastery ...

The Adler district of the Krasnodar Territory of the Russian Federation is famous not only for its resorts and health resorts. People from different parts of this great country “flock” to this place to see the many sights of this amazing region and visit the Orthodox missionary women's monastery - the Trinity-St George’s Monastery. Foreign tourists like to come here.

It was opened in 1999 in the month of August. Previously, there was a man’s monastery built, like all Orthodox monasteries, according to the old Russian tradition. In Soviet times, it was abolished and for a long time was inactive.

Features of the Trinity St. George Convent

The monastery is located among the mountains. A road leads to it along which you can get to Krasnaya Polyana. Near the monastery the river Sahe swiftly carries its stormy and noisy waters. Sometimes the streams of water are so powerful that their noise is heard in the monastery itself. Visitors are delighted to see this “miracle” of nature and cannot force themselves to leave this place.

The monastery tour is interesting and fascinating for any age generation and religion. The history of Orthodoxy is very interesting for guides. Viewing unique icons, many of which were created in the nineteenth century, leave a lasting impression even on unbelievers. The temples of the monastery keep the relics of such saints as St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, St. Panteleimon the Healer, the Blessed Virgin.

Not far from the monastery you can see and visit the Vladimir Church and the temple of the Holy Martyr Uara. In the latter, you can pray for the repose of the suicidal and unbaptized dead. In the country there are only three churches in which such a rite is held. These are Moscow, Ivanovo and Sochi Orthodox churches.

On the banks of the turbulent river Shahe, flowing down from the glaciers of the Greater Caucasus, a beautiful monastic cloister grew up - the Trinity-St George Convent. Pilgrims from all over Russia strive here, preferring relaxation among the green mountains, ancient ruins and Orthodox shrines to a noisy, undressed coast.

Recently, the flow of tourists from Sochi and Adler has increased: even people far from Orthodoxy sometimes want to think about the eternal, watching the flow of cool rivers to the sound of monastery bells.

History

Christianity in the Sochi mountains has an ancient history. Some references to it are older than the time of the baptism of Russia. The beginning of Christian preaching in the Caucasus was laid by the disciples of Christ. Later it intensified under the influence of the Greeks and Romans, who used the Black Sea coast as a place of exile for the "objectionable", among whom there were many Christians.

However, in the late Middle Ages, tradition broke off with the invasion of the Turks. The temples were turned into ruins and defenses. For many centuries, right up to the conquest of the Caucasian coast by Russia, the former faith was not heard. At the end of the 19th century, temples and monasteries began to be built again, among them the St. George Monastery near s. Forest.

The brethren did not have to live long in the fertile land. After the Civil War, the monastery was completely destroyed, and the monks were expelled. Many of them secretly settled in the gorges, not far from the holy place. In memory of the former monastery, the name of the stop on the Krasnopolyanskoye highway - “Monastery” remained.

The modern, now women's monastery, was built anew, in 1999 on the site of an abandoned recreation center. All Russia participated in its revival. Elegant architecture, unusual iconostases and coziness brought to the mountains of the Caucasus a piece of warmth and holiness of Middle Russia.

Shrines and sights of the monastery

The main temple of the monastery is the church of Martyr Ouar, a Roman warrior who took torment for Christ. Before the revolution, churches in his name were practically not built, but now there are only three, including this sky-blue building, bright in any weather. Saint Ouar has become loved by the people at the present time of unbelief: traditionally they prayed for the dead without repentance, unbaptized and suicides. The temple was built at the expense of the mother of the deceased border guard;

Chapel of the Mother of God “Satisfy My Sorrows”, an elegant building with an onion burning in the sun, contains an unusual carved iconostasis and an icon of the Mother of God made of Ural gems;

The Temple of the Virgin “Seven-shot” is decorated with an interesting faience iconostasis, a gift from the Urals. Weddings are held here. The Theotokos of the Seven-shooter may be requested to reconcile the warring parties, to end family quarrels and troubles;

Temple of the Virgin "Seven-shot"

A well with hydrogen sulfide water, identical in composition to "Matsesta", is covered with a "canopy" - an elegant canopy, which is also a belfry;

The temple of the Mother of God of Vladimir, one of the first buildings of the monastery, rushed into the sky. Baptisms are made here and great shrines are kept - particles of the relics of St. Nicholas, the reverend fathers of Kiev-Pechersk, a section of the Belt of the Virgin, eliminating infertility.

An archaeological monument of the Middle Ages, the ruins of a Christian temple with a necropolis, can be viewed at the spring of Kryon Nero, half a kilometer from the northern outskirts of the village.

A similar monument is located in a mountainous and wooded area, not far from the famous Vorontsov caves. A trail has been laid to the ancient shrine from the monastery (approx. 5 km). On commemoration of St. Panteleimon, processions are held with prayers. In ancient times, there was a major trade route, leaving the ruins of temples and fortresses, some of which are completely destroyed.

On the road, turning off the Krasnaya Polyana highway in the village. Ahshtyr you can see the well-preserved stone temple, built in the early Middle Ages and renovated after the Caucasian War. Another ancient ruins are located on the city of Sugar Loaf, 4 km from Akhshtyr to the west, with a fair amount of climb. Nearby is an old Greek cemetery. The ruins are covered with a film in order to protect from rain. Unfortunately, there are not enough funds for archaeological work and restoration of all Sochi monuments.

How to get there

In the season, excursion buses constantly go to the monastery from Sochi, pilgrimage trips are made.
It is also easy to get by public transport: from the airport in Adler take the minibus 131 to Galitsyno, get off at the final stop and walk for about 5 km following the signs to the monastery gates.

On bus 105, departing from Sochi every hour, ask the driver to stop on the road to the monastery. Go with a prayer for about 6 km.

By car, turn off the Black Sea highway, go along the Krasnopolyanskoye highway, admiring the beautiful views of the snow-capped peaks. After the village of Cossack Brod, do not miss the turn to Golitsyno and then - to the village. Forest. The road is paved everywhere.

There are prayer corners of marvelous oases on earth in which Orthodox believers receive the long-awaited reassurance of worldly problems, healing from diseases that torment them, gain faith and confidence in the future, become stronger, kinder and better at times. These places are holy, they are blessed by God himself. And therefore, thousands of pilgrims annually flock to the canopy of the gracious monastery monasteries in the hope of experiencing the effect of their miraculous power.

Trinity-St George’s Convent: history of creation.

The Orthodox Trinity-George Convent of the Yekaterinodar Diocese in the Psakho River Valley is one such oasis. It is located in the Greek village of Lesnoye, away from worldly bustle, surrounded by forests and picturesque mountains.

An abandoned place surrounded by greenery and flowers that used to be a recreation center for a reinforced concrete plant in Soviet times, was chosen by three nuns who decided to found the Trinity St. George Monastery here in honor of the nearby St. George the Victorious Church and destroyed the Holy Trinity Monastery, which was located after route "Adler - Krasnaya Polyana". At the site of the destroyed temple there is still a stop "Monastery", but he himself is not there at all.

Having decided on the place, the nuns received permission from the authorities to build the monastery and began to erect it. The monastery was built at the expense of believing parishioners, so in the first year of work they moved very slowly. However, unexpectedly for everyone, the icons installed in the erected temporary temple were pacified. They had been myrrh-streaming for three months, and this was enough for a large stream of Orthodox believers to rush into the monastery, carrying construction materials, money, groceries - who could do anything to help erect the shrine.

The monastery opened for parishioners on August 10, 1999, but construction work and landscaping under the direction of the architect Fedor Afuksenidi was carried out for another 17 years, and today there are 8 small but incredibly beautiful churches in the territory of the Orthodox monastery. In them, pilgrims can venerate the miraculous particles of the relics of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker and Luke Voino-Yasenetsky, the saints of Matrona of Moscow, Fevronia and Peter of Murom, as well as more than 80 particles of the relics of the Kiev Pechersk and Diveevsky saints, and pray for themselves and for the health of loved ones people. Under construction is a temple in honor of the healer Panteleimon.

In addition to the temples, the monastery has monastic residential buildings, greenhouses with vegetables, a poultry yard with chickens and pheasants, a monastery bakery and a wonderful gazebo next to the holy hydrogen sulfide spring above which the monastery belfry is located.

7 nuns live and serve in the monastery. The abbess of the holy monastery is its founder Abbess Anastasia, in the world Tatyana Mikhalko. In addition to the usual visit to the monastery, all visitors can live in the monastery as workers and work for its benefit.

Temple of the Great Martyr Uara.

The temple of the martyr Uara has a tragic fate - it was built at the expense of a woman whose only son was killed. The unfortunate mother sold all her property and gave the money to build this temple.

In ancient times, Ouar was a Roman military leader and took martyrdom for his secret faith. Subsequently, his body was thrown to be eaten by predators, but one woman took him to her, and later transported and buried him in a family crypt next to her unbaptized relatives. In reward for her noble deed, Saint Ouar appeared to her in a dream and said that the souls of her unbaptized relatives were now saved. Since then, the saint has been prayed for the souls of suicides and unbaptized people.

Temples of the icons of the Virgin "Vladimir" and "Peschanskaya".

These two temples with amazing carved wooden iconostasis are located in the same building. On the 1st floor there is the monastery of the Vladimir Icon of the Mother of God, on the 2nd floor - Peschanskaya. In 2013, he spent Christmas night here, having defended all his service and talking with parishioners, Russian President Vladimir Putin. The arrival of the president of the country became one of the most significant events in the history of the monastery.

Temple of the Icon of the Theotokos “Satisfy My Sorrows”.

The temple of the icon “Satisfy My Sorrows”, in which they pray to be healed of spiritual torment and sorrow, is the most beautiful in the convent. Its smooth openwork forms, a snow-white facade and golden domes crowned with a blue head with an Orthodox cross are inimitable in their charm and resemble a tiny old Russian tower. The carved iconostasis of the temple is made of linden.

Temples of the Nativity of the Virgin and the icon of the Virgin "Abbess of Mount Athos."

These two temples are also located on two floors of the same building. As in the case of the church of the Vladimir Icon of the Mother of God, the church was first built in honor of the icon "Abbess of Mount Athos" created in the 20th century, and then the second floor was added to it - the Church of the Nativity of the Virgin.

Temple of the Virgin "Seven-shot".

The temple of the icon of the Mother of God “Seven-shot” stands out against the rest by the grace of forms made in the Neo-Russian style, pillar-like architecture with a tent-like finish and a porcelain iconostasis. 7 faces of the apse echo the seven arrows depicted in the icon. In this temple newlyweds are married and pilgrims ask for intercession from troubles, illnesses and family conflicts.

Temple of the Icon of the Virgin "Burning Cupina".

This temple is a brownie; nuns pray in it. Its feature is the iconostasis, which is made of Himalayan pressed salt, and when the light is turned on, the iconostasis begins to glow in a delicate pink color. The Virgin Mary protects from fierce troubles and fires, and also protects people from dangerous professions - firefighters, pilots, rescuers.

How to get to the Trinity-St George’s Convent.

The holy cloister, reminiscent of an elegant toy town lost in the mountains, is located at the address: Krasnodar Territory, Sochi, Adler District, Lesnoye Village, 26 Budenovskaya Street.
