Akathist to Rev. Mark the Undertaker

Kondak 1

Ikos 1

Rejoice, reverend our Father Marco, the first aid and prayer-book for all those who come to you.

Kondak 2

Gift, Above you this, blessed father, for the time being you hid thou, secret prayers to God offering up incessantly. Putting iron on his belt, he was awake if you were day and night in labor and psalm, not separating all sowing from strict fasting. You drank water by the measure of holy standards, with which a copper cross served you. The Lord likewise likened the invisible to see and impossible to commit to man. For this reason, we reverently call upon him: Hallelujah.

Ikos 2

Strengthen the power of God, the venerable Father Marco, for spiritual exploits in the underground paradise, even the grace of the Lord, at the site of the Varangian nativity scene. In the same place, as a mentor of the monks, he came. Honoring such your deeds, we chant with all our hearts:

Rejoice, who teaches us patience with his life; Rejoice, showing the love of God to people;

Rejoice, adorned with the fruits of piety; Rejoice, manifesting patience and kindness to the whole world.

Rejoice, our warm, prostrate before the throne of the Most High; Rejoice, guiding despairing souls to Christ.

Rejoice, O most holy monk of the Father, affirming good deeds to the brethren in the jealousy of the Lord; Rejoice, worn Christ for the sake of iron.

Rejoice, he who casts doubt and lack of faith out of the stricken souls; Rejoice, being one who is pure and humble.

Rejoice, angelic man; Rejoice, wondrous about the Lord ascetic.

Rejoice, reverend our Father Marco, the first aid and prayer-book for all those who come to you.

Kondak 3

Carrying in a rank of an angelic monastic image, a winged lion was likened to a thou. As a lion revives the roar of its dead, so did you in humble and meek speeches resurrected the dead monks. Puzzled by such a wonderful transformation, we appeal to God Almighty: Hallelujah.

Ikos 3

Together with the evangelist Mark and the prophet of God Ezekiel, who once saw the lion likeness endowed with krill among the faces of the angels, you were blessed with thou and blessed be remembered to be along with the most ancient Christians thimbles. We, reverently this, call this:

Rejoice, with the Apostle Mark the winged lion is like the former; Rejoice, bearer of the Divine Spirit.

Rejoice, great wonderworker! Rejoice, merciful prayer book. Rejoice, unquenchable candle, burning in prayers to God; Rejoice, good prophet Ezekiel to a follower.

Rejoice, as you dwell all in the Lord; Rejoice, thou who was most vigorously and steadfastly directed by his disciples.

Rejoice, thou who laid the cockle of kindness upon her; Rejoice, humility and obedience.

Rejoice in the Most Holy Theotokos, chosen by your beloved; Rejoice, faithful follower of the commandments of Her Son and God.

Rejoice, reverend our Father Marco, the first aid and prayer-book for all those who come to you.

Kondak 4

The storm of life, restless in the minds of the brethren, was overcome by meekness, blessed Marko, with meekness and non-malice. In goodness, the cave piously pleaded with thou, instructing the monks in all virtue. Also, he deserved to be respected, together with Anthony and Theodosius, the rulers of monasticism and a monastic hostel in Russia. Behold, we cry out unto God: Hallelujah.

Ikos 4

Being always, having bodily bodily labor, was exhausted, leaving the burial place tight and unexpanded. Inoka, having suddenly died, no one could set me right in that uncomfortable coffin. Then you ordered that if the deceased, having taken the vessel, pour the cross oil on yourself. And so it was. At the sight of a miracle, the brothers, who grumbled angrily, embraced with mortal horror and awe. And we tremble with awe, chanting:

Rejoice, for thy memory is not only magnified by the brethren of the monastery; Rejoice, helper untiring of the mourners and the needy.

Rejoice, my intercessor at the throne of God, unashamed; Rejoice, humble multi-working, affirmation of the meekness and kindness of many in the faith.

Rejoice, full of the gifts of God; Rejoice, unquestioning love for your neighbors.

Rejoice, obedience to the curator; Rejoice, saving your miracles and the predictions of the monks from bewilderment and from the foolishness of indecent.

Rejoice, industrious rule; Rejoice, spiritual deeds of your spirit subjugating to your spirit.

Rejoice, for as Anthony and Theodosius the disciple became thou; Rejoice, for, being together with them in the glory of heaven, abiding, God will take out the sinners pleading with us.

Rejoice, reverend our Father Marco, the first aid and prayer-book for all those who come to you.

Kondak 5

Still quicker, always another burial place was not ready. Having revived the newly-departed, you, reverend Marco, ordered him to humbly wait for his hour. The Risen One, having opened his eyes, did not close them all day and night. The next morning, having covered his eye sockets, he betrayed his spirit in the hand of God and was laid with honor in a ready place. Miraculous to the new phenomenon, cry out: Hallelujah.

Ikos 5

Having learned thee, reverend Marco, as miracles of the creator and the seer, many earnestly praising and desiring to receive the grace of your prayers. You, according to the verb of God, thou hast driven away no one, but you served zealously for the salvation of those who pray. For this sake, we praise this commendable:

Rejoice, ministering to the Church of God from the works of your righteous ones; Rejoice, in the hand-dug cave you have received the refuge of salvation.

Rejoice, everlasting in prayer; Rejoice, protecting the Lavra of the Caves and the holy city of Kiev with a prayer watch from troubles.

Rejoice, having transformed the cave dwelling of thieves into the temples of the Lord of Glory; Rejoice, in the underground blood, the head of the deep serpent is firmly crushing.

Rejoice, reverend father, replete with high wisdom; Rejoice, O God-blessed mentor, the gifts of the Holy Spirit adorned.

Rejoice, apostle Mark, beloved word; Rejoice, instructing the whole brotherhood of industriousness.

Rejoice, he that asks for spiritual gifts to all who flow to you from the Lord; Rejoice, from all perplexity and that saves us.

Rejoice, reverend our Father Marco, the first aid and prayer-book for all those who come to you.

Kondak 6

Again, the glory of your exploits, blessed Marco, is always the two of the clerical brothers cherished by death in a single coffin nearby: the eldest grief, the younger below. Theophilus the Elder, temporarily departing from the monastery, received news of the death of John the Younger. Having returned and seeing his place taken, the elder cry out: “How can you put a younger one in my place?” But you, Marco, who bowed to him mildly, asked if the dead should come alive and go to your place. And it was like that. The older brother, who murmured against the blessed one, fell at his feet, verb: "I have sinned, Father." Knowing this, we are calling to the one who has chosen God: Hallelujah.

Ikos 6

Theophilus, who sinned with anger, was saddened sadly, rivers to you: "I pray, command your brother to lie down there again." But you told him: “The Lord Himself, destroying the discord between us, did this. Raise the dead is the work of God. I am a sinful man. But also know that: it is worthless, hoping for seniority, neither in anger of misconduct, nor willfully leave the brotherly abode ". I wonder at this, singing such one:

Rejoice, humility to the lover; Rejoice, marvelous praise of the zealous workers of Bose.

Rejoice, grumbling brotherhood to the conciliator; Rejoice, peace and silence in the abode of the inquirer.

Rejoice, thy disciples from your invisible enemy’s nets, by observing your prayer; Rejoice, tempted in Mnos, helping the tempted.

Rejoice, clean container of virtues; Rejoice, red village of the Holy Spirit.

Rejoice, humbly teaching us the virtues of virtue; Rejoice! He who calls to the exploits of piety.

Rejoice, amazed by your meekness of your brethren and people of the world; Rejoice, city of Kiev the heavenly intercessor.

Rejoice, reverend our Father Marco, the first aid and prayer-book for all those who come to you.

Kondak 7

The miracle of perspicacity was revealed to him, blessed by Marco, and he always told Theophilus to prepare for an imminent death. Having distributed property to the wretched, he retired to his cell, wailing, sobbing and fasting - in order to propitiate the Almighty and get time for repentance. This is leading, prayerfully invoking God: Hallelujah.

Ikos 7

From crying, the Monk Theophilos became blind, his flesh melted to the extreme for many days. Then you, Marco, said to the inconsolable: “Forgive me, I wished you this, predicting a quick demise, in order to reconcile your carnal arrogance. "God will not destroy the hearts of the broken and humble." Seeing such spiritual healing, we sing these:

Rejoice, Father, with wise teachers and monks, who entered the kingdom of heaven; Rejoice, for he who calls us to the path of salvation.

Rejoice, dying away the sorrows of men; Rejoice, he who saves from the passions of the obsessed from death.

Rejoice, for many abhorred from unbelief; Rejoice, for your holy relics, and now they save everyone who falls to them from any evil situation.

Rejoice, even before thy departure to the Lord, instructing all in the mind of Christ; Rejoice, forerunner of your death.

Rejoice, Equal One, an ancient prophet of God; Rejoice, overflowing gracious foresight.

Rejoice, having performed your miracles glorious in your life; Rejoice, glorifying God your deeds.

Rejoice, reverend our Father Marco, the first aid and prayer-book for all those who come to you.

Rejoice, reverend our Father Marco, the first aid and prayer-book for all those who come to you.

Kondak 11

The caves of Lavrsky, which was taken out by the great Underground Sky, and are now magnified by all of them, are less likely to expire from the graves dug by you, Marco, and later zealous diggers grace. In the position of the position of the sanctuary, kisses and prayer sighs are accepted for all those who, with their righteous lives, received from the Most High the gift of miracles and posthumous incorruption, both of all the names of ascetics have no sign. Today we glorify this blessed necropolis more than the pyramids of Egypt and other great cemeteries of the world, offering a prayer to heaven in heaven: Hallelujah.

Ikos 11

Heretics are trying to destroy the necropolis founded by you; people who did not believe in the grace of the holy relics, hastily zealously take out and burn the imperishable remains of the saints. However, the atheists and the Godless were confounded: the Most High did not allow blasphemous ruin, for the Lord is not confounded. In the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra are the relics of more than 120 saints resting imperishable in tombs. Among them is the holy monk Mark the Undertaker, whose memorial day is January 11th.

In the laurel, he performed obedience, digging the graves for the deceased fraternity from which he was called a grave digger. His relics also imperishably rest in the caves of the laurel.

With his own hands, Mark dug up many cave graves, and carried the earth on his shoulders, and was in labors every day and night. And he dug up many graves for the burial of the brethren, without demanding anything for it. If someone himself offered him something, he accepted and gave it to the wretched.

Once, digging, as usual, he was exhausted, having bothered, and left the grave narrow and unexpanded. Some of the monks rested that day, and there was no other grave left. Due to the tightness of the monk laid with difficulty. The brotherhood began to murmur against Mark, failing to pour oil on the deceased. And then, according to the reverend, the deceased, raising himself slightly, extended his hand, took the oil, poured crosswise on himself, lay down and rested.

Another time, having not had time to prepare a place for the deceased monk, pr. Mark during the funeral sent him a request to resurrect and wait another day. The deceased immediately opened his eyes and his soul returned to him, and he lived another day and night with his eyes open, but without using a speech.
Once he prepared a common grave for two brothers: Theophilus and John the Younger - the Lord called John earlier, and when Theophilus was indignant, why his brother was put in the place intended for the elder, pr. Mark humbly asked the dead man to move, which he did. The stricken Theophilus repented and spent a long life in the piety and memory of mortal.

Mark never took money for his work, and if he received what little, he distributed it to the poor. The flesh depressed the wearing of heavy chains, and its copper cross, hollow inside (235 by 165 mm), served as the reverend measure to quench thirst: he drank no more water than fit in this cross.

When Mark found out about the time of his death, he called Theophilos, said goodbye to him and asked for his prayers. The relics of the saint were laid in the Near Caves, where he himself dug up the grave. There lie the chains that he wore on himself, and the copper cross from which he drank water. With his lips he consecrated it so much that he became miraculous.

According to the results of anthropological research, he died at the age of 35-40 years.

Currently over the relics of St. Mark hang heavy chains, testifying to the feats and labors of the saint, and a monument to his abstinence is a copper cross from which he drank water. And many who faithfully come to the holy relics of St. Mark and reverently drink water from his copper cross, sanctified by his mouth, through the prayer of a saint receive healing from all ailments and diseases.

The memory of the holy saints of God, the Rev. Mark the Pechernik, the tomb digger, John and Theophilos the Weeping, has long been celebrated by the whole Russian Church.

Man was created by God as a perfect being compared to our present state. However, sin has distorted the nature of man, brought suffering, decay, and death into it. How often our mortal body succumbs to illness and fatigue, our soul suffers from the bustle of vanities. Turning to God, Orthodox Christians also ask for prayerful intercession before the Almighty and from His saints. In this regard, the Kiev Pechersk Lavra has great wealth - the intercession of a host of saints who became famous in this monastery for their spiritual deeds. Every day, on weekdays, a prayer service is held in the Lavra caves to All the Monks of the Caves, after which the worshipers are anointed with peace from the Miracle-Working Myrrh-streaming heads. A special prayer service is held to the founders of the Kiev Pechersk Lavra - the Rev. Anthony and Theodosius of the Caves, and after it the faithful wears the hat of the Monk Mark the Undertaker. The Monk Agapit of Pechersky was a doctor during his lifetime, but more than a healing potion he was healed by his prayer. And sow the day, the prayers of the saint comfort many suffering, and at his relics miracles of bodily and spiritual healing take place.

Saint Rev. Mark walked in this hat. Pechersk ascetics were carriers of the highest moral perfection - they are people of high, pure and holy life. The imperishability of relics resting in the Lavra caves is a manifestation of the grace of the Holy Spirit, a gift of God's mercy to the saints of the Caves for their holiness of life and their special love for God and their neighbors.

Hat ( four kilogram metal headpiece) the monk is now transferred to the temple "Life-giving Spring", where there is an opportunity to gather more people than in the cave.Every day (Monday to Friday at 8.30 a.m., Saturday - 10.30 a.m., except Sundays), prayers for health are performed here with the hats of St. Mark being put on the heads of the worshipers at the end of the prayer   . During the service, prayers are made and in faith putting on the headdress worn by the Pechersk ascetic, we ask him for help and prayers before God, so that we can learn from him the same clean and holy life.
If you go from the temple in honor of the icon of the Blessed Virgin Mary "Life-giving Spring" to the right along the Dnieper embankment, you can see a neat staircase that leads to the source of the Mother of God. People call it also “Tears of the Blessed Virgin Mary”, or “Tears of the Mother of God”, sometimes they say “Life-giving spring.   Every day (Monday - Sunday at 3 p.m.) there are prayers for health with donning the hats of St. Mark at the end of the prayer..

This relic heals the people who put it on. Parishioners believe that the cap of the Rev. Mark the Undertaker digests all the negativity, removes evil eye, damage, heals severe bodily and mental illnesses, fills a person’s aura with pure energy.

Our Father, Marco, pray to God for my sin, may he grant me the memory of my afterlife

Rev. Mark the Undertaker worked in the monastery in the second half of the 11th century. During his reign, the incorrupt relics of the Monk Theodosius of the Caves (1074; commemorated May 3, August 14 and 28) were acquired and transferred from the cave to the church in honor of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary (1091). The Monk Mark settled in a cave, prayed incessantly and observed strict fasting, even the reverend drank water moderately (by measure
in drink served for him a copper cross, inside a hollow). The blessed one girded on an iron belt that he wore throughout his life. The Monk Mark was distinguished by great industriousness: he dug caves for prayers and for the burial of the deceased brotherhood, he carried out dug earth on his shoulders. The ascetic took nothing for his work, but if he was forced to take something as a reward, then he immediately gave it to the poor. Staying in an angelic image, the saint and in fact showed himself as if incorporeal. He was not afraid of death, but had such power of miracles that he could raise the dead. So, according to pr. Mark, the dead monk himself poured oil on himself. Another monk died when the Monk Mark had not yet dug up a grave for him. Then the saint ordered the dead man to stand up and wait for the next day to finish the work he had begun. According to the saint, the deceased rose again, and rested the next day. Once, the Monk Mark, at the request of two brothers, the Rev. John and Theophilos (Comm. 28 September and 29 December), dug a common grave for them. The younger brother the Monk John died first, and he was buried in the absence of the eldest, who was away. When the Monk Theophilus returned and saw that his brother was lying in a grave in a place that belonged to him by right of seniority, he began to reproach the prp. Mark. The cave, bowing humbly to the Monk Theophilos, asked for forgiveness and wished to eliminate the discontent, addressed the deceased: "Brother, stand up and give this place to your older brother ..." And the dead man moved in the tomb. Seeing this, the Monk Theophilos fell at the feet of the Monk Mark and asked for forgiveness. The cave noticed him to take more care of his salvation, since after a while he would also be brought here. Saint Theophilus decided that he would die soon, and distributed everything that he had, leaving only the mantle. Every day he waited for the death hour, and no one could keep him from tears or make him taste sweet food. From tears, Rev. Theophilus lost his sight. Before the death of St. Mark, at the request of St. Theophilus to die with him, said: “Do not wish death, it will come, even if you did not want to. This is what will signify your near death: three days before death you will see clearly. " The saint's prediction came true. The body of the Monk Theophilos was laid in the Anthony Cave with his brother, the Monk John, near the relics of the Monk Mark. Rev. Mark the Undertaker performed many other miracles and predictions. Knowing the hour of his death, he dug a grave for himself. Rev. Mark died peacefully around 1102. The relics of the saint were glorified by the miraculous healing of all who came to them in faith. He has healing power and the cross from which he drank water. The memory of the Monk Mark is celebrated on January 11, October 11 and on the 2nd Week of Great Lent.

Kiev Pechersk Lavra

It is generally accepted that after death a person is already beyond the reach of creditors and is only interested in funeral organizations. But grave diggers are far from the only people who benefit from the physical, so to speak, presence of the deceased's remains on sinful earth. Without even touching the clan of petty graveyard thieves stealing wreaths and details of monuments, it is necessary to recognize that today in Russia the social stratum of citizens who built their business solely on the dead flourishes. These are grave diggers, grave robbers.

True, in our time the ruin of fresh graves is unpopular. There are two reasons for this. Firstly, from the hopeless poverty of the bulk of the cemetery “population”, hands will drop at the most stubborn grave digger. The graves of high-ranking military men are occasionally plundered - for the sake of uniforms, gypsy barons and new Russians. Although, quite possibly, desecration of rich burials occurs more often than is known to law enforcement agencies - this is in cases where thieves work in jewelry, leave no traces and are directly related to the personnel of the cemetery.

Another reason: no extra fat from a fresh corpse, except for a few trinkets that have no historical value, cannot be fucked today. Whether it was in ancient times or the Middle Ages - then the body of the deceased went to "disposal". For thousands of years, the terrible mining of grave diggers was in great demand among pharmacists - manufacturers of the healing product “mummy”. As the name suggests, the Egyptian mummies were processed first: they were ground to dust. But also the mummy was made from fresh corpses: the dead were simply boiled in special vats with tubes to drain a fatty, oily brew - a miracle cure was prepared from it. The profit from the mummy trade in those years can only be compared with the profits of current drug dealers. So, the grave robbers were loaded with work up their throats. Later, with the development of scientific medicine, freshly excavated bodies, despite severe church punishments, were in steady demand among university students. And the mummy, however, is still freely sold to this day and it remains to be hoped that its manufacturers do not resort to traditional recipes.

In recent years, there have been only a few high-profile abductions of the dead from places of eternal rest. In particular, in March 1978, the coffin with the body of the great comedian Charlie Chaplin disappeared from the grave. The criminals demanded a ransom from his widow - 600,000 Swiss francs. The police managed to figure out and tie the bandits: they turned out to be two unemployed Slavic immigrants. Just a few days before this incident, in Italy, according to a similar scheme, grave diggers tried to cash in on the body of the Italian millionaire Salvatore Matressa.

Russians make money on the dead in a less extravagant but more effective way. Real money today brings two specializations of grave diggers: “black” archeology and “black pioneering” - the search for the remains of soldiers of the Second World War. "Black Pioneering" is considered not too aristocratic occupation among the knights of the shovel. However, expeditions to battlefields are highly beneficial. Kaliningrad old-timers recall that once, in Soviet times, on the Curonian Spit, near the city, local peasants found a whole box of German awards. After that, all the surrounding dogs walked with crosses like Christmas trees with toys. Now such a squandering can be dreamed by a Kaliningrader only in a nightmare.

Nazi paraphernalia has a consistently high demand among Moscow collectors. Moreover, everything can serve as a product - from the "SS" cockade, to boots and decayed underwear. Weapons - a separate article. Of particular value are things made in concentration camps of human skin, in particular, officer pouches and lamp shades. A very good income comes from collecting tokens of the fallen Wehrmacht soldiers - they are bought by the Germans. Soviet badges and awards are much less appreciated, and soldiers’s grave diggers often donate the medallions themselves to official search organizations.

A special success among the "black pioneers" is considered to be the discovery of not even the remains of a murdered German soldier, but his wealthy descendants in Germany. In this case, the cost of the token and personal belongings of the deceased depends only on the thickness of the wallet of the burghers. A very interesting trend was outlined after the West embraced the fashion for technology during the war. They began to steal ... graves. After all, it’s precisely a grave, according to Divine and human laws, that a tank, a car, an airplane, sunk with a crew in a river or a swamp is recognized. Fighting vehicles that have served as sarcophagi for many years are disassembled into pieces and transported from Russia to Europe. As it became known, now foreign collectors are very interested in the Luftwaffe bomber Henkel-111, who fell with the crew in 1942 in the Volga near the Saratov railway bridge. According to all reports, this machine should be well preserved and the cost of lifting it from the bottom will pay off many times.

The one who thinks that the “black pioneers” have recently appeared is mistaken, as henchmen-suppliers of criminal gangs and shadow antiquaries. In Sevastopol, for example, there are peculiar dynasties where accumulated knowledge and experience are passed from father to son. Looting flourished in Sevastopol with a double color in the postwar years: in the vicinity of the city lay thousands of Russian and German soldiers not buried. Robbers at that time were attracted, first of all, by golden teeth, crowns and rings. In the seventies of the last century, a group of young scumbags dug up on the outskirts of Simferopol, where Jews who were shot by Germans were buried. The robbers torn from the skulls and crowns at half price sold to jewelers.

Teeth, by the way, are a very promising direction in coffin digging. Dentists have long used the teeth of the dead for prosthetics. A wave of fashion for the “mortuary grin” swept through Europe after the Napoleonic Wars. Crowds of local peasants and stricken looters roamed the battlefields with tongs, stuffing bags with incisors, fangs and molars torn from corpses. They were called Waterloo’s teeth. Now this trend in dentistry is slowly gaining momentum again, with one correction: teeth from skulls of 1.5-2 thousand years old are valued. Good ecology and ingenuous nutrition have allowed Scythian teeth to remain strong as steel and white as pearls for centuries.

Excavations of Scythian, Sarmatian, Alanian and Mongolian mounds in Ukraine, Russia and Siberia are carried out by high-flying tombs - “black archaeologists” or, as they are also called, “antics”. Experts note that never, in the entire history of mankind, the ancient mounds did not know such a destructive bacchanalia of robbery, which began in the 90s of the last century. At all prestigious world auctions, archaeological values \u200b\u200bfrom the steppe barrows and Crimean necropolises are in great demand. Silver and gold buckles, funeral masks, black and red and lacquer dishes of the ancient era, Byzantine coins, glasses, pendants, bronze and gold jewelry are sold. In Crimea, more than three thousand barrows, crypts, tombs and ancient settlements are known. They are all, without exception, carefully sifted by thieves, and repeatedly.

Residents of one of the Crimean villages have recently witnessed a tumultuous showdown between competing grave diggers. Not far from the road, right in the field, someone found an intact burial ground. The good news instantly reached the ears of the looters, and a couple of days later several international teams of "archaeologists" landed near the village. The debate over the mound almost turned into a shootout, but a consensus was still found: the burial place was ransacked "on shares", quickly and dexterously. Cream taken from only one burial can provide a dozen "gentlemen of fortune" to the end of life.

The vehicles envisioned by the laws of Russia and the CIS republics regarding grave destroyers are so ridiculous that they do not frighten even the lazy from this craft. But even in countries with tougher laws, the business of the dead is booming. At present, in China, in the province of Shangxi, police are waging a real war with marauders for owning the treasures of Xi'an, the city of the "thirteen dynasties" of emperors. The death penalty for the ruin of tombs does not scare away the grave diggers and only leads to the fact that the bandits are arming themselves and without any hassles enter into battle with the police.

Recently, as you know, Israeli archaeologists announced the discovery of the Essenes ancient cemetery near the Dead Sea. Burials were detected using a radar capable of "seeing" through the ground. Excavations began after some organizational delay and it turned out to be fatal for archaeologists. The grave robbers instantly sniffed about the find, rummaged through the cemetery, and these were 1178 graves, and carried away the most valuable funerary antiques.

There is still a right to grave diggers, but not criminal law, but fear of the mystical power of the dead. The fact of the mysterious and sudden death of all the leading experts who took part in the excavation of the burial chamber of Tutankhamun is well known. The spell cast by the Egyptian priests on the tomb of the young king read: "Death will fly on swift wings to anyone who dares to touch the tomb of the pharaoh." The first victim of Pharaoh’s revenge was the organizer of the expedition, Lord Carnarvon. Without delving into history, one can note the equally mysterious death of the 45-year-old star of Rostov archeology Evgeny Bespaly. The scientist personally examined about one and a half thousand Sarmatian and Khazar barrows, he found most of the Sarmatian gold stored in museums of the country. Evgeny Bespalov died in 2000, having become infected during excavations with a rare disease - leptospirosis. Before his death, in delirium, he did not stop talking with the spirits of Sarmatian soldiers who appeared to him.

Professionals from black archeology are even more superstitious than scientists. They have long noticed that it is worth starting the excavation of the next barrow, as thunderclouds gather in the sky. It is a known fact that four Sevastopol robbers penetrated the ancient crypt and saw the skeleton of a woman with severed hands. Between the ribs of the deceased stuck rotted remains of a wooden stake. Recovering from the first shock, frightened men pulled the witch's skeleton out and burned it at the stake. In turn, in Olonezh, word of mouth is passed on to a legend about Baba Matrena, who strangled the robber Onfim when he tried to steal a gem-amulet from her grave. In South America, among the Indian tribes, it is considered indisputable that the mummies of the ancient leaders come to life in case of danger and ruthlessly crack down on tombstones.

By the beginning of the third millennium, only two indisputably existing, but still not discovered, richest burials remained in the world: the grave of Genghis Khan and the grave of the leader Goth Alarich. The first took care of his body in advance, ordering the faithful nukers to kill all the participants in the funeral procession after the funeral. Allaric was buried at the bottom of the river, which was specially blocked before this. The Goths also killed the workers who built the crypt for the leader, as soon as the river entered its course. How long the whereabouts of the graves of the great conquerors will remain a mystery, in view of the treasure-hunting fever that has swept the world, is unknown ...

Brief Lives of Rev. Mark the Grave Digger, Theophilos and John the Caves, in the Near Caves

About the pre-like Mar-ke Gro-bo-ko-pa-te-le, Fe-o-fi-le Lament-li-vom and John (XI-XII) rasa-ska-za-va em Ki-e-Pe-Chersky Pa-te-rik. Two brother-and-the-other-ka, pre-like-good Fe-o-phil and John, so much love each other friend, that simplified-si-whether-pre-good-no-go Mar-ka-go-something-twist them od-well, mo-gi-lu.

After many years, the elder brother was sent to Mo-na-Styr de llamas. At that time, brother John fell sick and died. After a few days, he returned to the proper Fe-o-fil and walked along with his brother to watch, where the wife died 1st. I’m sorry that he’s lying in their total grave on the first place, he didn’t go to the blah-mar-but Mar-ka and the hall: “Why did he live here on my place?” I am older than him. ” Pe-shcher-nick, with the media-re-ni-e-kl-nya-ya pre-ext-no-Fe-o-fi-lu, forgave me to forgive him. Then, turn to the dead man, said: "Brother, stand up and give this place to a little older, and you will lie down on another place." And dead in the first place in the world. Uvi-dev this, the pre-good-natured Fe-o-fil fell to the no-gam of the pre-good-but-Mar-ka and the strength of forgiveness. Pechernik nicked him to take care of his spa session, because after some time, he was also day huh. Hearing this, the very good Fe-o-fil was terrified and decided that he would soon die. Having given everything that he had, and having left only the mantle, every day he awaited the death of the first hour. No one could keep him from tears or make him taste sweet sweet food. From tears, the pre-like Fe-o-fil lost sight. Pre-in-kind Mark before con-chi-no on his prayer to die together with him said: “Don’t bother death, she will come, though you wouldn’t bark. This is what you know by your close con-chi-ni: three days before death, you are ripening. ” The words holy are used. Te-lo-do-do-go-Fe-o-fi-la-lo-same-but-in-no-no-e-howl-pe-sh-re, in a coffin along with his brother-in-law, John-John, near the power of God-in-law, Mark.

Full lives of the Monks Mark the tomb digger, Theophilos and John the Caves, in the Near Caves

The pretentious Mark, John, and Fe-o-phil were in Ki-e-Pe-Cher-obi-tei at the end of XI and -cha-le XII centuries.

For-nya-ti-em, pre-add-on, but Mar-ka-lo-po-shche-ry and go-so-va ka-mo-ry - me-a-hundred for --- beat of the fraternity (because of that he’s on-the-shelf-pe Pe-nickname, that is, living in pe-sh-re). But even with such a simple labor-in-motion-nickname, it was unusual for tea-but-du-hoo-no-go-so-super-genstva. Living in the sand, pre-like-so-and-mi-ru-ka-mi-ko-pal, such-and-such mo-gi-ly and on your shoulders you-but- forces over there. Day and night, working for the State, yes, pre-good-for-nothing, there were many places for warming the brotherhood. The motive-nick did not take anything for his work; if anyone is good-for-nothing, let him do anything, he is not-so-small, and all the time let him be a beggar. In without prayer, laboring and awake, day and night, St. Mark od-na-ko didn’t succeed in doing these labor mi-mi-du-mi-mi. Squeezing his flesh in a fast, vigilant, and molit-howl, for a half-dead death, he lay on the side of his heavy faith -gi and air-razhy-val-ya yes in use of water: when, mu-chi-la thirst, he drank water only as much as -he included in his copper cross, for some reason he always had his strength with himself.

To God, there would be unceasing work and, in fact, movement. Mark, and He did beat Pe-cher-ni-ka so-so-chu-des-no-si-sila, that yes even dead-we-hees were heard his go-go-sa .

Odn-ozhdzhi Mark, as usual ko-pai mo-gi-lu, uto-mil-si to-from-not-mo-the-same-ness and left me-hundred tight and unresolved rennim. It happened that on the same day one sick monk died and for him there was no other mo-gi-ly, besides this narrow and uncomfortable. Then, in everyday life, the ho-ro-thread of the body died on the day of his death. That is why the speedy brought dead in the sand to the under-finished space and, as a result, the tight work have you got it. Neither to remove the dead, nor to correct the clothes on it, nor to pour oil on it all the time, but it is impossible - so-so as narrow and inconvenient as it were. Then the brotherhood was ro-ta-li on the Mark. Pe-cher-nick with the media-re-ni-nem-ko-nah-bent to everyone and said: “Forgive me holy, holy fathers, for dumb I didn’t finish. ” But fraternity is still more than fraternity and reproaching him. Then Mark, turning to the dead, said to him: “Brother, it's a little tight; so you work yourself, take the oil and take it for yourself. ” And the dead one, having appeared a little bit, pro-erased the ru-ku, took the oil, put it on his chest and face, and his face and, from-dav-shi co-court, he himself took everything by himself, lay down and fell asleep. Fear and trep-en-zayal all, vi-dev-shih t-kh choo-do.

Another brother, after a long-boi-les-no-no-measure. One of his friends wiped his lips with a good-for-no-go and went to the cave to watch the place, where he would hold the tele-usop -What. He asked Mar-k-Pe-shi-ni-ka about this, but the thankful woman told him: “Sing and say good-bye: wait, wait until you start tra, because is-ko-pa-ut-te-be me-hundred, then-and where you go from life to nothing. ” “Why,” Mar-ku objected to the monk who arrived, “why the hell are you just?” I’ve already wiped his dead body with my mouth. ” But the pre-requisite dream reiterated to him: “You see: there is still not so much in it. I velu te-be - go and tell me died-she-mu: the sinful Mark says-te-be: live this day still, and tomorrow you go to the same -la-e-mo-mu, to the battle of Hryst, Gos-do-na-she-mu. When-at-go-to-lu me-a-hundred, ku-yes-to-live-te-ba, then I will send for that-fight. "

C'mon Mark-ku, the monk returned to mo-na-steer. Here, all the brotherhood of so-ver-sha-li is a great ball-singing over the dead. Then the monk stood in front of the ni-mi and turned to calmly, with those words, words: “Mark speaks te, that there’s not a place yet, yet, wait until the morning. " Everyone was astonished at this. But it was even more well-known that, according to this word, du-sha must-have-been turned into his body; he opened his eyes and stayed alive all night, with open eyes, just for nothing. On another day, his friend again went to the bosom to find out if there was a place. Blissful Marc met him and said: “Come and tell me lively sheu: Mark says he tebe: leave this temporary life and sing rei-di to the eternal; Th-in-me-for-your-th-e-th. Give your spirit to God, and your body will be here, but in the same time, with the saints. ”

The brother walked and re-gave revived she-mu dru-gu words pr vp. Mark. He was in front of everyone who came to sit on him, that very hour laughed his eyes and gave his spirit to God. He was graben in the sand, at the place where he was for him. And everyone was dying this-moo-choo-doo.

In the Pe-Chersky mo-na-shi-re there are two spiritual brothers - John and Fe-o-fil. From youth, they would be one, one, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no thoughts, and same la, odd-for-jealousy according to Bo-ge. They are simplified. Mark-go-to-instill in them a common place for warm-up, where they could lie together, when God bless them. A lot of the time, the eldest of them, Fe-o-fil, from-lu-chil-si from obi-te-li for any need. At this time, the younger brother, John, ugo-div Gos-do, once more and more and died. His in-ho-ro-ni-li at-go-to-len-nom place. A few days later, after the death of John-on, the Fe-o-fil came back and, learning about the death of his brother-in-law, he was very quick. Therefore, taking several other things with him, he went to the pe-sh-r to watch, where, at some place, he and his wife died shih. Uvi-virgin, that he was right on the first place in their common place, much more angry at Mar-mark, a lot of murmur on him and with him, do-va-ni-e-go-r-ril: “Why did you live here here? I’m older and you lived it on my place. ” Pe-cher-nick, smy-ren-but bowing to him, said: "Forgive me, brother, I sinned before that battle." Then, turning to the dead man, he said to him: “Brother, stand up and mouth-me not one hundred dead, but you yourself lay down on another, lower meste. " And suddenly, by the words of blah-no-no-go, the deceased stood up and lay down on another place. Great horror declared all those who were present. Then, rop-tav-shiy on pre-ext-no-th Fe-o-fil with a tre-pe-tom fell to his no-gam and forgave: "Oh, so-gre -I sewed, in a three-in-one lived with a few hundred brothers-that-mo-e-th. “I-lu te-ba, when-he-he again lie down on the old place”. But the blissful media-ren-but told him: “Lord, He himself had finished the enmity between us. I am glad that you, forever but enmity, do not keep evil, would be at me, He co-made you such a wonderful thing Well, that, yes, even without a soul, a te-lo is for a true love for te-te, letting te-be a hundred-rai-tire-and-death those. And I wanted to, so that, if you didn’t come out of this way, you would take advantage of your old bus and that hour would be -He is here. But since you are not yet ready for death, then go and take care of your own soul: in a few days, you should not be left here. . To raise up the dead is de God, and I am sinful for a century. Here’s a dead man, not an eraser of your wrath, insulting and reproaching me, I drank te-be-po-lo-vi-well-me-one, com-len-no-go for you both. And since only the Almighty God can lift it, I myself can’t say death myself, stand up and lay down again on the highest level -ste. Come on to him now, do you not listen to him like now? ”Hearing this, Feo-o-phil was horrified and damned that right there p-det is dead and you don’t reach-mo-na-shi-ry. Reaching for his cell, he surrendered himself in unceasing cry. Having given everything up to the last day, and having left only his suite and mantle with him, Fe-o-phil every day awaited death-but- go cha-sa. And no one could keep him from tears; no one could give it a taste of sweet pee. Every morning he said to himself, “I don’t know if I’m alive until evening.” It was night, and he said, “What am I supposed to do?” Do I see you until morning? For many, getting up in the morning, didn’t get it-ha-ve-che-ra and, lay down on their logs, didn’t get up from them anymore. Moreover, I am already getting better because of my preference for the fact that my life is soon conceived. ” And with tears, he prayed, the State-yes, to give him time in time. Every day and hour the Fe-o-fil kon-chi-ni awaited him, because of the fact that he was keeping himself fast, weeping and praying were unceasing. So, in the course of a few years, Fe-o-phil, before that, used his body to be able to count all his systems -you and to-sti. Many people came to console him, but with their re-cha-mi only to-in-di-lee to more than a little ry-da-niya. Finally, from incessant crying and tears, he went blind.

Pre-good-natured Mark, pro-vi-dev hour from his e-go to Gos-do, called the Fe-o-fi-la and said to him: “ Brother Fe-o-phil! Forgive me, that I upset you for many years, and prayed for me, for I already am from this light. If I am in earnest daring but before All-higher, then I can’t pour for you, but soon beat us God hang out there and be together with ot-ts-mi on-shi-mi An-no-ni-em and Fe-o-do-si-em. " Feo-o-phil with a pla than he told him: “Father Mark! What are you leaving me for? Or take me with you, or let me see it. ” “Don’t be sorry, brother,” pre-kind Mark said to him, “those forest eyes, you have blinded Radi Bo-ha, but duhovny I have matured to His mind. Having announced to you close con-chi-well, I became the fault of your sla-po-you. But I wanted to bring good to you, turning yours into a media, for the heart is sooooo but God, too, is not uni-chi-living (). ” Fe-o-fil from-for-pre-ext-no-me: “I know, my father, that for my sins I should have died dead before that battle in the past re that same time as you regained the strength of your deceased brother, my God, but God blessed me to give you my holy men- Lithuania, gave me life, waiting for my-e-th-for-th-I-n-e. Now I ask you about this: either take me with you to the Lord, or return the light to my eyes. ” Then, prp. Mark asked him again: “There is no need to see this little light, and the best is for God to be able to - beat beat see his weakness. And death isn’t barking: it will come, although you wouldn’t want to. And now, you know the name of yours, three days before the end of yours, you will see it, so you’ll go to the Lord and see there the light is endless, and the weakness is indefinite. ” Ska-zav it, prp. Mark slept, and honest rewards were there in the first place, on the spot, for he swoosh himself fell .

Glu-bo-ko ope-cha-li-la-pre-do-no-go-Fe-o-fi-la-lu-ka with the father and on-becoming-no-his pre-po ext. Mar-com. Kon-chi-na Pe-cher-ni-ka uyaz-vi-la-hearte Fe-o-fi-la and double-and-la his cry and ry-da-niya. He was whole-heartedly crying, and his tears were clearer more and more cleverly. He had co-judgment and, having set his sights on prayer, stood before him and inconsolably cried over him, a little con-chi-well on -No-ka, with tears behind me thinking and about my own speed from this stupid world. And after a few years this co-court was full of tears. Finally, having recognized the closeness of his own con-chi-ni, Fe-o-fil pri-lay-but prayed the State-yes, so that they could be before Him tears him. Raising his hands to heaven, he prayed: “Vl-dy-ko Che-lo-ve-ko-lyub-che, Gos-po-di Jesus, Christ, my Tsar-ryu Pre-holy! You are not the good death of sinners, but you are waiting for their conversion, knowing the deep weakness of us, Ute -shi-te-lu Blah-giy! You are healthy, sinful, sinful spa-se, out-not-mo-ha-yu-u-shi-p-tel, pa-da-yu-uh, rebuilding! Mo-lu Te-ba, Gos-po-di, at this hour: after me and on me, nedos-sto-oh, my mercy and from me on me neis-cher-pa- e-mu pu-chi-well, Th-e-th blah-morning-biya, because I’m from me-from-is-ku-shes-niy on we-tar-rast-souls-prince- zi-mi and don’t let them take possession of me, mo-lit-wa-mi please-ni-kov Thy-their great fathers-on-our-An-tho-and Fe-o-do- this and all the saints, from the age of Te-be ugo-div-shih. "

Suddenly, An-gel Gos appeared before him, a fine-looking vi-house, and said to him: “You are good-for-nothing, but for what “do you still have so-and-so tears of yours, assembled to-fight in a co-court?” And taking another co-court, go-go-up a big Fe-o-fi -lo-va, is-pol-nen-ny blah-hoo-hoo-noo, like mira blah-hoo-no-hoo, hoo-hoo him in a move-ni-hoo and ska- audience: “These are your tears, because of something from the heart to the mo-lit-ve, that’s why you wiped it out, handkerchief or clothes and ka-pa-li to the earth from the eyes of yours. According to the Creator, I have collected all of them and saved them in this sous-sous-de. Now, now I am sent to raise the Te-be joy: with you, you-you shall come to Him, for He said: bla-no-pla-chu those who are comforted (). ”

Having said this, An-gel, as a rule, became a co-court before the Fe-o-fi-scrap and became invisible. The blissful Fe-o-fil called for the yoke-me-on that hour and gave him the appearance of An-ge-la and his speech. By-the-head of the igu-me-well, both so-su-yes: one full tear, and the other-go - blah-hoo-hoo-hoo, no comparison no hoo-hoo aro-ma-ta-mi, pre-like-kind pro-power to pour them with warmth on his body.

Three days later, St. Feo-o-phil world-but went to the State-do. Honestly, his body was the same, but in the first place, along with the body of his love, my brother, his pre-add-no- Go John, near the St. Mar-ka Pe-cher-ni-ka. All three move-in-one-in-one in An-no-no-e-howl, or Near-Neighbor, pe-sh-re. And when the Theo Fe-o-fi-la in-ma-for-li from the co-sou-da An-ge-lo-va, the whole pech-ra is-half-no-was go-whoo. Therefore, you poured tears on him and co-judgment, so that the one who, after all, in ra-to-sti, ate the fruit of de la his own hands. “For ska-za-no, - za-kan-chi-wa-eat monk Po-li-karp his tale of the pre-like-like Mar-ke, John and Fe-o-fi-le, - pla-ka-hu-xia me-ta-yu-se-me-na has its own (), but they will be comforted about Christ, Ko-ro-mo-sla wa From and to the Holy Spirit, now and forever, and forever and ever. Amen".

For the time being, above the cannons pr. Mar-ka-si-sat, the same veri-gi, svi-de-tel-yu-u-u-about-d-d-g-gah and labor-d-pre-ext-no-go, and remember -nick of his exhortation — a copper cross, from which he drank of water. And many, with faith, come to the holy relics prp. Mark and with blah-go-go-ve-ni-e drink water from his honey-cross, sanctified by his mouth, in mo-lit ve holy-go-half-cha-ut-healing from all ailments and more-lez-it.
