Fire column KPA DSTU 2801-94 (GOST 7499-95) is designed for opening (closing) an underground hydrant and connecting fire hoses for the purpose of drawing water from water supply networks for fire needs. The column can be used in areas with temperate, cold and tropical climates, placement category 1 according to GOST 15150-69.

Fire pump KPA price from 6543 rubles

Fire column KPA– has the purpose of opening or closing a special fire hydrant to draw water from the water supply network and supply it under pressure to the source of the fire.
The fire pump device consists of an upper and lower metal body connected to each other with a kind of valve running inside the body and a threaded connection located at the bottom of the body for screwing onto a fire hydrant. The upper part of the column has two valves designed to shut off and regulate the flow of water passing through the outlet pipes equipped with GMN-80 connecting heads. The water intake is adjusted manually by rotating the T-shaped key.

Fire pump transported by fire trucks at the rate of one column per vehicle.

GOST: fire standpipe (KP): A device designed for opening (closing) underground hydrants and connecting fire hoses for the purpose of drawing water from water supply networks for fire needs.

Fire column device:

Fire pump KPA is always available in stock.

A fire column KPA (GOST 7499 DSTU 2801-94) is screwed onto the upper threaded end of the hydrant. The column regulates the supply of water from the water supply system, and also has outlets for connecting fire hoses to it and supplying water to the source of the fire or the pump of a fire truck.

2 fire hoses with a diameter of 77 mm with connecting heads GR-80 are connected to the KPA column

Operating principle

The principle of operation of the KPA fire column is based on the opening and closing of the fire hydrant valve in order to supply water from the water supply. The KPA column is installed on the fire hydrant so that the square key at the bottom of the column fits into the square end of the hydrant rod. The fire hose is screwed onto the hydrant by rotating its body clockwise (the socket wrench does not turn). After this, the hydrant valve opens (with the column valves closed) by rotating the socket wrench counterclockwise (the hydrant valve opens completely at 10-14 turns of the socket wrench) and water from the water supply network enters the cavity of the fire column. After connecting the hoses to the nozzles of the fire column, the valves open and water from the fire column enters the hose line.

Professional team

Each employee undergoes fire safety certification. Description

The column is installed as follows:

  • screw it onto the hydrant so that the square rod of the hydrant fits into the hole in the square coupling of the column;
  • screw the KPA column onto the hydrant, rotating the body clockwise;
  • then open the hydrant valve and rotate the socket wrench counterclockwise, now water will flow into the column cavity;
  • We attach the hoses to the nozzles of the column, opening the valves, water from the column will flow into the hose line.

The KPA fire column consists of a housing (lower and upper), a key, a valve and connecting heads. Both halves of the housing are bolted to each other and sealed with a rubber O-ring. At the bottom of the body there is a thread that is intended for screwing the column onto a fire hydrant. At the top of the column there are 2 valves with 80 mm UP to shut off and regulate the flow of water passing through the outlet pipes, on which connecting heads are installed for connecting fire hoses to them.
A test must be performed to verify the column. A pressure of 1.5 MPa is applied to the column for 2 minutes, while moisture is allowed to escape at three points, but not more than 20 drops every minute.
It is necessary to store the column with the locking devices closed, but leaving space for a gap between the valve gaskets and the mounting sockets, which ensures their elasticity.

The main purpose of the KPA fire column is to open the underground to provide hoses and/or hoses with the required amount of liquid supplied under pressure from the water supply network.

The column is a valve of complex design, through which the pressure is regulated when water is drawn from the system. People's lives can sometimes depend on the reliability of fire-fighting equipment, so it is necessary to install only certified KPA columns supplied by our partner, the ENKO Prof company.

Principle of operation

During fire extinguishing, the technical characteristics of the control unit make it possible to:

  • Use the hydrant;
  • Supply water to fire hoses under pressure;
  • Vary the pressure.

Installation of the fire column KPA, according to GOST 7499-55, is carried out by means of a threaded connection. In reality it looks like this.

  • The Ministry of Emergency Situations team descends into the well, where they mount the device on the hydrant.
  • Fire hoses are connected to the control unit using a flange.
  • A valve opens on each flange.

In this case, the upper valve is designed to set the liquid supply mode, which is supplied to the outlets from the system or from the fire truck. The water pressure in each outlet is regulated separately.

Operating requirements

The KPA fire pump is used to fight fire and flush water pipes. When servicing it, the tightness of all joints and the performance of the system must be monitored.

Installation standards:

  • flow capacity with open valves - 70 l/s;
  • hydraulic resistance - 10 units maximum;
  • complete sealing with closed valves;
  • installation of the control unit in a well - threaded connection with a hydrant;
  • pressure - 1 MPa;
  • color - red.

If only one discrepancy with the specified conditions is detected, maintenance or a complete replacement of the KPA column is necessary.

When extinguishing a fire, the ability to switch the liquid supply mode is vital, since the required pressure force and water pressure depend on the tactics used.

Among other things, operating requirements, according to Federal Law No. 117, include:

  1. Art. 127. Ensuring absolute tightness of connections and joints.
  2. Art. 128. Maintaining operability at the maximum permissible pressure.
  3. Art. 130. Serviceability of check valves for all branches.

The reliability of the equipment is checked during mandatory testing, which includes control sampling of liquid from a centralized system. At the same time, the tightness of the components, pressure adjustment, and the throughput of the column are checked. In addition, fluid flow is measured.
